If you are wanting some super empowered and embodied photos of yourself (no nudity required) and would be willing to let me use some of them in digital marketing and art galleries, let’s talk.

 

Priority goes to marginalized genders, races, and body sizes.


*All sessions are trauma informed and geared towards people who’ve struggled with body image, however, I always recommend therapy in addition to my sessions for everyone!

My goal is not just to show my models that they are inherently beautiful (see below for some noodling on what I even mean by this loaded word); it is to collaborate with them in an exploration of their own sense of beauty, shifting the paradigm away from beauty as desirability, towards a framework of agency, embodiment, celebration, and intentional construct of identity. I tend to feature photos of my models celebrating the serenity of exposure, finding confidence in claiming their own version of being.

  6. The value of this session is around $850. Last minute cancellations or retraction of model release will result in a minimum charge of $500, or more depending on services rendered.


 
 
 

FAQs

 

Where will we do this session?

I gave up my studio at the beginning of the pandemic and it’s turned out to be great because I’m FREEEEE. For some of these model calls I’ll rent an airbnb and get everyone in for appointments. For others, We’ll just meet wherever it feels organic and beautiful for whatever you, in particular, are working on. Sometimes I love to shoot on a backdrop with a light setup, but I also love to shoot next to windows, in the woods, bathtubs, dance studios, rooftops… I’ve photographed in some strange places. We can make art anywhere.

Do I have to get nekkid?!

Absolutely not. Some of my clients like to get fully nude to explore the landscape of their body image. Other times we can play with fabric or a sheer kaftan. I’ve had folks feel most themselves in a tanktop and shorts. The goal is to explore your embodiment, not make you feel uncomfortable. Also, it’s hard to post nipples on instagram.

Why can’t I have all of my images?

In order to run a profitable business where I can support myself and my family, at bare minimum I have to charge over $1000 to break even on the amount of hours I spend on these sessions and all of the equipment and software I own. In order to do these sessions, I have to cut down on the hours I spend on them.

Why are you doing these sessions?

A few reasons.

1) I believe that visibility is really important. I don’t want to show only small-bodied cis white women on my feed because those are often the clients who are most comfortable signing releases.

2) I don’t want body-shy clients to feel like they must show their bodies in order to have sessions with me, but I also want a way to make some sessions accessible to people to who can’t otherwise afford my services.

What if I don’t like my images (pfft, as if)?

Oof. I’m going to be completely honest, it can be hard to see our bodies sometimes. It’s rare, most everyone adores their images, but sometimes it happens that folks don’t love the way they look. I’m going to be honest, if I am showing you an image, it’s good. But this is a model call. The goal is to get one single image you love and a few that I love. Going into this contract, you are agreeing to a no cost session so that I can get images for marketing. It’s a win-win. If you want me to delete them, I will, but then you will need to pay me for the session like a paying client. This has never happened to me before. What has happened to me is that people have wanted to keep the images but not wanted me to post them. In this case, you will also need to pay me for the session like a paying client.
